SMA Systems Maintenance Adminstration
AAFAME encourages it's engineer members to seek the SMT/SMA designation (System Maintenance Technician & Administrator) offered through BOMA Austin. Currently 34% of our engineer members have the SMA/SMT designation. Once the designation is received you will need to maintain 18 CEU's every 3 years and AAFAME helps to fulfill that requirement by being a member and attending luncheons (1/2 hour) & training classes (2 hours). You can even get credit for serving as a committee volunteer (3 hours per year).
Contact BOMA Austin to register for the SMA/SMT Classes. AAFAME members receive a BOMA member pricing on classes ($100 discount).
AAFAME offers a scholarship for those whose employers do not offer tuition assistance.
